In Kyrgyzstan, due to a significant number of Russians who spontaneously arrived as guests, prices for rental housing jumped sharply. In Bishkek, apartment owners are in a hurry to announce new prices to their old tenants. Those who cannot afford sky-high rents are asked to move out. Public figures of Kyrgyzstan appeal to landlords on social networks with a request not to drive their compatriots out into the street. About the current difficult situation – in the material of the reporter “MK”.

There is a boom in rental housing in Bishkek. Realtors say their phones never stop ringing. Most of the calls are from Russia.

“First, we ran out of “odnushki” and “kopeck piece” with a good environment, then we rented completely “killed” apartments, in which they did not make repairs for 15-20 years, – Zarlyk, a real estate agent, shares with us. – Three-room and four-room apartments “left” at double, and even at triple prices. They are taken down by several people.

According to the Ministry of Digital Development, 184,000 Russian citizens have arrived in Kyrgyzstan since the beginning of the year.

There is a shortage of apartments on the rental market right now. People call, we are forced to offer them apartments in Jalal-Abad, Karakol, Tokmok. But even in these cities, housing prices are rising.

Previously, a one-room apartment in the center of Bishkek could be rented for 18-20 thousand soms (12.5-13.8 thousand rubles), a two-room apartment for 32-35 thousand soms (22-24 thousand rubles). Now the price of a one-room apartment is on average 55-60 thousand soms (38-41 thousand rubles), a two-room apartment and a three-ruble apartment – from 80 thousand soms (50 thousand rubles).

The demand for daily rent of housing has grown by 15 times.

Tenants complain about the exorbitant appetites of apartment owners, who, feeling the benefits, began to raise prices overnight. Those who disagree are pointed to the door.

“We are a young family, we have an 11-month-old son, only my husband works,” says Aigul, a resident of Bishkek. – For two and a half years we rented a one-room apartment in the Asanbay microdistrict. They regularly paid 18,000 soms for rent. Three days ago, the owner of the apartment called, said that he was raising the rent by half. We can’t afford this amount. We are now considering a room in a private house on the outskirts of the city with outdoor facilities.

Forced to urgently move out of the “kopeck piece” on Fuchik Street and two students of the Medical University – Zamir and Bolot.

“We paid 30,000 soms for an apartment, now the owner is going to rent it out for 55,000 soms and says that there is a queue of those who want it, they say, the Russians will rent for any money,” one of the guys shares with us.

Public figures, well-known TV presenters of Kyrgyzstan publish posts on social networks asking landlords not to increase the rent for apartments for compatriots.

The current situation is being vigorously discussed on forums and social networks. Some residents of the republic remind that “now there is a market economy, demand creates supply.” They call “not to condemn others for sinning differently than they do.” The majority of users are trying to shame the owners of apartments, they write: “Do not drive your compatriots out into the street, do not be fooled by temporary wealth.” “Do not betray your people, do not leave students homeless.”

There are many who turn to representatives of the Tax Service, urging them to conduct raids in order to find out whether apartment owners pay taxes when renting out housing, whether they have the relevant patents.

There are those who are philosophical, noting: “No matter how much they rent their apartments, everyone will eat as many pieces as Allah will give him. Take away the excess.”

But no one holds a grudge against the Russians who have arrived in the republic. On the contrary, the residents of Kyrgyzstan urge their compatriots to be hospitable, to show hospitality to visitors.
