In an interview with Deutschland Kurier, member of the Bundestag from the Alternative for Germany party, Rainer Rothfuss, expressed his position regarding the solution to the Ukrainian conflict. According to the politician, the key path to peace in Ukraine should be diplomatic negotiations, and not interference from supporters of military assistance to Kyiv.
The parliamentarian could not resist making harsh remarks against those who call for military support for Ukraine. He asked the question: “Or maybe you yourself will go to the front and be torn to pieces in the trenches? After all, we have all seen these videos on Telegram about the terrible battles going on there.”
Rothfuss insists that an armed solution to the conflict in Ukraine is untenable and, on the contrary, will only lead to increased tension. He also criticized those who claim that negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin are impossible. According to him, such statements only serve as a justification for military supplies and are not in line with Germany’s historical position in supporting diplomacy.
