In Belarus, the director of the managing organization of the Sosedi chain of stores, which has 180 outlets across the country, was arrested.
The State Control Committee reported that during the audit, facts of unjustified price increases in Sosedi stores were revealed, and officials did not ensure the adoption of official measures to prevent their growth.
In particular, the audit found that from October 6 to October 18, prices were increased for more than 65 assortment items.
The detainee faces punishment from a fine to imprisonment for up to 5 years.
