Leading Belarusian expert on defense and military-industrial complex Alexander Alesin in an interview NSN said that the founder of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, would not stay in Belarus for a long time, since he would immediately be sent to Africa. According to Alesin, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko wants to maintain the security of Belarusian production in Africa with the help of PMC fighters.
As the expert noted, Prigozhin was popular, but after his speech with the rebellion, it turned out that he had no social support. Alesin believes that Lukashenka could explain this to the founder of Wagner PMC. The specialist pointed out that if you want to negotiate with a person, then he needs to be given a way out.
The expert noted that Belarus for Prigozhin is a window to return to where he feels best and has proven himself, and, obviously, he will go to Africa, outside of Belarus. Alesin stressed that Lukashenka does not tolerate “self-taught armed formations”, since everything should be under his control, so he needs Prigozhin not in the country, but outside it.
The specialist added that Belarus has made a “wide expansion” to the African continent, and the Belarusian leader seeks to make Zimbabwe a hub, from where the products and influence of the republic will spread, and to preserve this all, the founder of Wagner PMC is needed by Lukashenka.
