A test vote took place in Moscow in preparation for the Russian presidential elections. Muscovites were offered three options for answering the question: “Is it necessary to cut down poplar trees in the city to get rid of poplar fluff?” By a small margin (37%), the proposal to cut down poplars and plant other trees won in their place, she reported press service public headquarters for monitoring the Russian presidential elections in Moscow.
The option to leave the solution to the problem to specialists received 32% of the votes, and not to cut down the poplars – 31%. In total, 716 thousand people joined the vote. Of these, 713 thousand people voted using the remote electronic voting system (DEG), almost 4 thousand – using paper ballots at 146 polling stations.
The headquarters claims that from the first minutes of voting, the DEG system was subjected to massive, multidisciplinary cyber attacks, which lasted until the end of testing. Artem Kostyrko, head of the department for improving territorial management and developing smart projects of the Moscow Government, said that all attacks were repelled and the system coped with the load.
