In the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in 2023, two combined arms armies, one mixed air corps, as well as 50 formations and military units were formed. About it reported Ministry of Defense in a collection dedicated to the results of activities in 2023.

By data departments, since February 2022, the production of tanks has been increased by 5.6 times, infantry fighting vehicles – by 3.6 times, armored personnel carriers – by 3.5 times. The production of drones increased by 16.8 times, artillery ammunition – by 17.5.

Since 2023, President Vladimir Putin has increased the staffing level of the Russian armed forces by 137 thousand people, to 2.04 million (1.15 million are military personnel). Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev saidthat from January 1 to December 2023, 500 thousand people were accepted into contract service in the armed forces.

In December, at the board of the Ministry of Defense, Mr. Putin statedthat arms supplies to Russian troops tripled last year compared to 2022. Weapons production began to increase against the backdrop of the military operation in Ukraine.
