Deliveries to Russia of “gray” smartphones have almost completely stopped. It is reported “News” with reference to several sellers who work in one of the largest Moscow radio markets.
According to market participants, due to the shortage, phones that were imported into the country without observing customs procedures have risen in price by three to four thousand over the past two weeks.
In the future, their price is likely to be similar to those imported under government-authorized parallel imports.
Sellers predict that stocks of gadgets imported into the country through illegal schemes will run out during March.
Mobile Research Group analyst Eldar Murtazin noted that problems with the import of gray phones into the Russian Federation began in February after the change in leadership of the Federal Customs Service.
The department reminded the publication that the import of devices into the country without observing customs formalities is regarded as smuggling.
