Imitation of original Coca-Cola drinks appeared in Moscow stores

A drink appeared in Moscow stores, the bottle of which imitates the original containers of Coca-Cola, drew attention RBC. These bottles are stamped with a “fresh” November or October bottling date. At the same time, Coca-Cola stopped the production of drinks at ten Russian factories back in March.

An RBC journalist discovered such bottles in the Svetofor discount chain on Varshavskoye Highway and Cherepanovykh Drive in northern Moscow. The packaging indicates that the drink was made with the permission of The Coca-Cola Company by the Russian “daughter” of the company – Coca-Cola HBC Eurasia LLC at the Moscow plant of Multon Partners (formerly Coca-Cola HBC). The same bottles were found in a non-chain store in the Sokolina Gora area. The plant of the former Coca-Cola HBC in Russia in the Rostov region is indicated as the place of production.

In March 2022, The Coca-Cola Company announced the suspension of business in Russia amid the start of a special military operation in Ukraine. Coca-Cola HBC Russia factories began to produce Russian drinks: Dobry, Rich, Moya Semya.

RBC called the hotline indicated on the label of the drink from Svetofor. An employee of Multon Partners said that the production of original drinks in November is impossible, since the production of drinks was stopped in April. According to him, a special syrup for the production of the drink is not supplied from the United States due to sanctions. Coca-Cola HBC, in response to a request from RBC, said that the company had ceased production of all drinks under the Coca-Cola brand and did not plan to produce them in any format. In September, in the stores of St. Petersburg was discovered original soda brought from Iran and Ukraine.
