“I’m not a fool”: Kennedy Jr. assessed the threat to his life from the CIA

Well-known vaccine conspiracy theorist and Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has said he is “aware” that he could be killed by the CIA, but says he “doesn’t live in fear” of the possibility.

Kennedy Jr., 69, has repeatedly claimed that the CIA was involved in the assassination of his uncle, President John F. Kennedy, in Dallas in 1963, according to the Daily Mail. He also claimed that the intelligence agency may have been behind the assassination of his father Senator Robert F. Kennedy in California in 1968.

Now Kennedy Jr., who announced his campaign for the presidency in April, has said he recognizes the danger he faces running for office and has said he could be assassinated by the CIA.

When asked on the Joe Rogan podcast about his belief that his uncle John F. Kennedy was assassinated by the Central Intelligence Agency, he said: “I have to be careful. I am aware of this danger, but you know, I do not live in fear of it at all. However, I am not a fool, I take precautions.”

Kennedy Jr. said last month that his uncle’s assassination story was “a 60-year-old cover-up.” He argued that there was strong evidence that the CIA was involved in the assassination of President Kennedy by Lee Harvey Oswald in 1963. The CIA has repeatedly denied any involvement in the assassination of John F. Kennedy.

During his appearance on the Joe Rogan podcast, Kennedy Jr. also reiterated his claims that Covid vaccines cause autism: “Everyone says, ‘There’s not a single study that shows a link between autism and vaccines.’ It’s just crazy. These are people who do not look at science. It’s part of the religion.”

The Democratic politician, writes the Daily Mail, made a name for himself as a well-known vaccine campaigner, but his involvement in the anti-vaccination movement has especially intensified since the pandemic and the development of a Covid-19 vaccine.

His anti-vaccination charity, Children’s Health Defense, was booming at the time, with revenues more than doubling to $6.8 million by 2020, according to filings with charity regulators.

His organization has targeted groups that may be more likely to distrust the vaccine, including mothers and black Americans, which could have led to deaths during the pandemic, experts said.

Kennedy Jr. occasionally referred to his family’s legacy in his anti-vaccination writing, including occasionally using images of President Kennedy. His sister Kerry Kennedy, who runs Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights, an international organization founded by their mother Ethel, said her brother sometimes removed content at her request. She told The Associated Press in a 2021 interview that her brother is “completely wrong on this point and very dangerous.”

Since Kennedy announced his candidacy for the presidency as the Democratic nominee in April, he has garnered a ton of sympathy in recent polls as incumbent Joe Biden’s campaign gets off to a rocky start.

Kennedy declined to openly speculate about Biden’s mental fitness for the job, but told Fox News he entered the race because he was unhappy with what Biden was “doing to this country.” He specifically pointed to the president’s handling of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, which he said should have been resolved a long time ago. Kennedy has also attracted a narrow following among conservatives with his vocal skepticism about the COVID-19 vaccine, as well as his support for keeping biological men out of women’s sports.
