IDF agrees to suspend fighting in southern Gaza Strip for humanitarian purposes

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stopped fighting in the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip for four hours for humanitarian purposes. About it reported IDF press secretary Avichai Edri on the social network X (ex-Twitter).
Combat operations were suspended from 10:00 to 14:00 (from 11:00 to 15:00 Moscow time). From 9:00 to 16:00 local time, the humanitarian corridor for the evacuation of residents of the northern part of the Gaza Strip reopened.
The evacuation route runs from the Al-Shifa hospital along the Salah ed-Din road to the south towards the Rafah checkpoint. From 10:00 to 16:00 local time, the Palestinian refugee camp of Al-Shati was evacuated.
The day before, a humanitarian pause was announced for four hours in the area of the Jebaliya refugee camp in the north of the Gaza Strip. Israel ceased hostilities following negotiations with US authorities on November 9.
November 7 Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant statedthat Israel will not agree to a “humanitarian pause” without the release of the hostages. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu previously adhered to the same position. At a press conference in Tel Aviv, he said that Israel will not stop until it completely deprives Hamas of control over the Gaza Strip.
