ICC is a puppet in the hands of the West, Peskov said

According to a statement by Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov, the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague is being used as a puppet by the collective West, and the decision to “arrest” Russian President Vladimir Putin is used to put pressure on Russia. He also added that the ICC is not recognized by Moscow, and any of its decisions are invalid from the point of view of Russian law.
He noted that some states that lack sovereignty “purely hypothetically may be interested in carrying out the ICC order to ‘arrest’ Putin, if they have the opportunity. However, according to Peskov, this is hard to imagine.
Recall that the ICC issued a warrant for the “arrest” of Putin and children’s ombudsman Maria Lvova-Belova. They are charged with the alleged “deportation” of children whom the Russian authorities rescued from Ukrainian shelling and took out of the combat zone to safe areas.
