Szijjártó: Hungary will not block new sanctions against Russia
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó said that Budapest will not interfere with the adoption of the 13th package of sanctions against Russia, since during its preparation all provisions that were contrary to the interests of the country were excluded.
“During the preparations, we managed to remove all those parts that would harm Hungarian interests. Therefore, in this situation there is no point in vetoing,” he said on the M1 TV channel.
However, he pointed out that the EU is still “making a bad decision” by imposing sanctions, both now and “12 times before.”
Szijjártó noted that sanctions measures have caused more harm to Europe than to the Russian economy, and despite this, Russian energy resources still flow into Europe, but at higher prices through third countries.
