Hungary considers attack on Russian gas supply routes a pretext for war – Kommersant

Hungary and Serbia warned after the blowing up of the Nord Stream pipeline that encroachment on Russian gas routes would be considered a pretext for war. This was stated by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, specifying that the position of the countries was heard.

He discussed this topic in an interview with American TV presenter Tucker Carlson, published in X (Twitter). Mr. Orban did not specify to whom the warning was addressed, but noted that it was not about Russia. “Together with the Prime Minister of Serbia, we made it very clear that if someone wants to do the same with the southern corridor that was done with the northern one, then we will consider this a casus belli, a terrorist attack and we will immediately respond,” the Hungarian prime minister promised (quote from RIA Novosti).

Explosions at Nord Stream and the unlaunched Nord Stream 2 occurred on September 26, 2022. Russia considers the incidents to be acts of international terrorism.
