The head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry called on the United States to look at anti-Semitism in its country

The United States of America needs to look at the growth of anti-Semitism in its country, and not lecture others, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó said at a meeting with the Speaker of the Israeli Knesset (parliament) Amir Ohan.

In particular, he writes TASS, the head of the foreign policy department called on the US State Department not to lecture others and to prepare reports on rights and freedoms abroad. The Hungarian politician noted that after the escalation of the conflict between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas movement, not only in Western Europe, but also in the States, the number of anti-Semitic incidents increased. He said that in the US their number has increased by 300%.

“I sincerely hope that after this the State Department will stop making messages about religious freedom in other countries,” Szijjártó said, adding that Hungary is the safest place in Europe for Jewish communities.

Earlier, the head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry said that The Republic is a sovereign country and does not care about US instructions regarding the ratification of Sweden’s membership in NATO.
