Hublot and Takashi Murakami offer NFT play

The collaboration between the watch brand and the Japanese master of contemporary art has reached a new level: in order to get their hands on the latest product of the joint collaboration, the Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami Black Ceramic Rainbow watch, released in just 13 pieces, applicants must own at least one of the 324 NFT images released in April 2022 as part of a previous collaboration between Hublot and Murakami.

They were originally offered to owners of one of two models – Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami All Black or Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami Sapphire Rainbow. Thus, 12 copies of the novelty will be sold, and the period between the announcement of the project, which took place in New York in February of this year, and the start of sales in April, will allow an interested collector to purchase at least one of the NFT images currently available on the OpenSea platform. The last, 13th copy is reserved for the collector of all 12 new NFT images presented at the New York presentation, and will be sold in at least a year. If there are no applicants, the Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami Black Ceramic Rainbow will be sold at a charity auction.

Not being experts in NFT technology, we confine ourselves to listing the advantages of the watch. As usual, their dial is stylized as Murakami’s creative emblem – a smiling flower, 12 petals of which are encrusted with rubies, sapphires, amethysts, tsavorites and topazes matched by color gradient. Thanks to ball bearings, the petals rotate around the axis with the movements of the wrist, creating flashes of light (and color) against the background of a black ceramic case with a diameter of 45 mm, equipped with a two-hand automatic in-house movement with a 72-hour power reserve.
