It is thanks to this data that the various energy suppliers are developing applications that allow you to monitor your consumption on a daily basis, such as Engie Particuliers, Conso Live from TotalEnergies or even EDF & moi. It is possible to follow its own consumption in euros, on its telephone. A personalized monthly report can also be offered.
Some suppliers offer more precise but chargeable services, with the installation of a data transmission box connected to the Linky meter. The Ma conso+ application from Engie works thanks to a radio transmitter connected to the meter. This service, billed at 2 euros per month, allows you to monitor your consumption in real time with a history per day, per month and per year, in euros. It is even possible to obtain an estimate of its consumption for the current month. The application also makes it possible to evaluate the annual cost of an electrical device, by putting it into operation and specifying its frequency of use. A report of what is consumed by the devices in standby is also proposed.
TotalEnergies with its Conso Live wifi key (eg Atome key) works in the same way. It is free for the supplier’s customers but is charged 2 euros per month for others. It also offers personalized advice on how to save energy.
With regard to gas consumption, households that are already equipped with a GRDF Gazpar meter can follow the daily evolution of their consumption on their GRDF customer space. Suppliers such as Engie with Cap EcoConso, EDF with E.quilibre or the Direct Énergie application also allow this, by offering a comparison with similar accommodation.
Monitor your consumption with a classic meter
For households that are not yet equipped with smart meters, it will then be necessary to carry out a self-reading of the classic meter regularly. To start, you have to read the indexes of the counter for the first time. With regard to electricity, if you have opted for an option “ peak hours / off-peak hours », there will be two indexes to note.
Write down these numbers with the exact date. Carry out the same operation a month, a week or a day later to obtain the difference in consumption over this period. Manually calculate the consumption of each device
Quite basic but useful, this method allows you to manually calculate the electrical consumption of a device. It is necessary to rely on the power in watts of the device (W), to be multiplied by the number of hours during which it is used during the day. For example, with a television displaying a power of 100 watts per hour, its use for four hours will result in a consumption of 400 watts. A figure to be divided by 1000 to obtain a result in kWh, i.e. 0.4 kWh.

Use a consumer
