How do people’s incomes grow?

Real disposable income of the population (less inflation and mandatory payments) increased by 5.1% in the third quarter of 2023 compared to the same period last year, according to Rosstat data. At the same time, compared to the previous quarter, the figure decreased by 0.1%. In January–September, the growth rate was 4.8% in annual terms (last year for the same period there was a decline of 1.3%).
In the income structure, the share from wages and salaries decreased compared to the previous quarter from 59.7 to 58% and from business activities – from 7.3 to 7%. The percentage of social payments increased from 19.6 to 20.2%, income from property – from 4.1 to 5.4%. In addition, other cash receipts also increased (including unobservable, shadow income) – from 9.3 to 9.5%.
