Hotlines popular among Muscovites on the separate accumulation of waste will continue to work in the new year

Residents of the capital can ask questions about the work of the regional operator and the operation of the waste management system via two hotlines

Throughout the past year, specialists from the Support Center for Separate Waste Accumulation have been answering calls from Muscovites. They advised residents on how to properly prepare recyclable materials for recycling or where to dispose of hazardous waste. The hotline employees also collected ideas from citizens on how to make container sites in the yard more convenient. In total, over the past year, employees of the Support Center received more than 2,500 calls.

“If earlier the specialists of the State Unitary Enterprise Ecotechprom received questions about the difference between containers with gray and blue markings, now residents do not need such explanations,” said Vyacheslav Torsunov, head of the Moscow housing and communal services department. – Most of the townspeople are used to the division “into two tanks” – into mixed waste and recyclables, and now they are interested in more detailed information.

Specialists of another hotline, the regional operator for the treatment of municipal solid waste (MSW), conducted more than 33,000 consultations last year. Approximately 10,000 of them occurred in the first two months of the year, when the regional operator, State Unitary Enterprise Ecotechprom, had just started work. By spring, the number of applications had decreased, and by the end of the year it had decreased by almost a third.

“Such statistics show that the regional operator is successfully coping with its duties, the functioning of the MSW management system has been ensured in the capital, and active information work is being carried out among the residents of the capital,” the head of the department concluded.
