Tourism is making a strong comeback in a country that has become economically dynamic again.

This summer, personalities such as Emma Stone, Magic Johnson, Elon Musk or the former President of the Republic Nicolas Sarkozy and his family have chosen Greece to get away. And, like them, hundreds of thousands of people who could break the tourist affluence record. In June, the Ministry of Tourism recorded 3.48 million arrivals through airports, a few hundred more visitors than in June 2019, before the pandemic. The historical high would therefore have been exceeded.

The islands, of course, always attract, but so does the capital. A few meters from the remains of the Acropolis and its pedestrian street lined with orange trees, it is impossible to ignore the many construction sites underway in the capital. The cicadas of the Parthenon do not drown out the bustle of jackhammers and the ballet of cranes raising clouds of fine dust which mingle with the rays of the sun.
