Musicologist Vladimir Feiertag, considered the most authoritative historian and popularizer of jazz in Russia, died in St. Petersburg at the age of 92.
The death of the lecturer and presenter of jazz concerts was announced by the artistic director of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic of Jazz Music, David Goloshchekin.
“This is an irreparable loss for me personally and the entire jazz world,” said Goloshchekin.
According to the artistic director, until his last days Feyertag continued to work and perform on stage.
