Oscar-winning actress Julia Roberts has been maintaining friendly relations with the Swiss jewelry and watch house Chopard for several years. In 2021, she became the face of the Happy Sport watch line, a couple of years later she became a global brand ambassador, and today she presents her first experience in jewelry design. Roberts, with her usual passion, plays big: that’s why the capsule collection released together with Chopard belongs to the high segment of high jewellery.

The work began with the discovery of an amazing stone. A huge emerald weighing 6,225 carats, found in the certified Kagem mine (Zambia), was named Insofu (“elephant”, translated from the language of the local tribe). Chopard purchased it in its raw form to create an entire jewelry set with emerald fragments combined with other colored stones. “We had a lot of fun creating beautiful, yet sustainable pieces that combine emerald sparkle with a stone that I really value: turquoise,” says Julia Roberts about the collaboration with Chopard co-president Caroline Scheufele.

The capsule includes three pieces built around a combination of green emeralds, sky blue turquoise and cherry red rubellites. The cocktail jewelry – ring, necklace and earrings – turned out to be bright, voluminous and very summery. The pear-shaped stones are set in certified fairmined gold. The collection was a continuation of the Chopard Journey to Sustainable Luxury project.
