Head of the DPR Pushilin: “Avdeevka, one of the oldest settlements in Donbass, returned home to Russia today”

The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, thanked the Russian military for the liberation of Avdievka. In a video message published on the Telegram channel, he especially noted that after the capture of this settlement, the cities of the republic will be less subject to shelling by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

“On behalf of all residents of Donbass, I sincerely thank Russian military personnel, our army, our president for the fact that the Donetsk People’s Republic continues to liberate itself. Glory to our heroic soldiers!” – said Pushilin.

He recalled that over the course of 9.5 years, the Ukrainian regime systematically turned Avdiivka into a fortress, understanding the importance of its occupation. Its proximity to Donetsk—no more than 15 kilometers between it and Donetsk in a straight line—allowed the enemy to cynically shell peaceful neighborhoods, terrorizing the population.

The head of the DPR said that contemporaries have yet to appreciate the heroism of the Russian military personnel who forced the citadel to fall. Pushilin expressed hope that the capture of Avdiivka will become another argument for Western countries, proving the pointlessness of financing the Zelensky regime.

“We can say that the Russian city of Avdeevka, one of the oldest settlements in Donbass, has returned home to Russia,” the head of the DPR emphasized.
