Hamas called the Israeli minister’s statement about the possibility of a nuclear strike on the Gaza Strip terrorism. This was stated by the representative of the Palestinian group Hazem Qasem, his words brought press service.

“Statements by the so-called Minister of Heritage of the Zionist Occupation [израильского] government that dropping a nuclear bomb on the Gaza Strip is one of the options being considered reflects the unprecedented criminal terrorism practiced by this fascist government and its leaders against our Palestinian people,” the statement said.

He added that such statements were accompanied by “full support from some countries, especially the United States” for Israel’s actions in Gaza.

Earlier, the Minister of Jerusalem Affairs and Heritage of the Jewish State, Amichai Eliyahu, during an interview on Kol Berama radio station, allowed the dropping of a nuclear bomb on the Gaza Strip, calling it “one of the possibilities.”

After this, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Eliyahu’s words were “out of touch with reality,” and the prime minister’s office announced a decision to suspend Eliyahu from participating in Cabinet meetings until further notice. Eliyahu himself said that the claims of a nuclear strike were “metaphorical.”

The Gaza-based Palestinian group Hamas attacked southern Israel on October 7, killing about 1,400 people. The Israeli army responded by launching Operation Iron Swords. According to the latest data from the Gaza Ministry of Health, about 9,500 people were killed as a result of the Israeli strikes, and more than 24,000 were injured.

On October 27, the Israeli military announced an expansion of the ground operation and called on residents of the northern Gaza Strip to move to the south. On November 2, the Israeli army conducted an operation to encircle Gaza City, then starting fighting in the city with Hamas militants.
