Hamas military wing claims large number of Israeli soldiers killed

The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, issued a statement saying that many Israeli soldiers had been killed or wounded in fighting in the Gaza Strip in recent days.
“Our fighters killed and wounded a large number of enemy soldiers,” said Abu Obeida, a spokesman for the brigades.
The Israel Defense Forces have not yet responded to these allegations.
Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said at a cabinet meeting that the Israel Defense Forces had expanded its ground invasion of the Gaza Strip and begun the third stage of the operation.
