Hamas is ready for an immediate prisoner exchange with Israel. This was stated by the head of the movement’s Politburo, Yahya Sinwara. For the release of hostages held by Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, the Israelis must release all prisoners from the “occupation prisons.”
Earlier, a representative of the military wing of the Hamas movement, Abu Obeida, made a similar statement. He, however, was ready to exchange Israelis for Palestinian prisoners in several stages. Let us note that there are currently about 6 thousand Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons. And Hamas is in the hands of about 300 hostages taken on Israeli territory.
Let us remind you that the confrontation in the Middle East escalated on October 7. On this day, Hamas representatives found themselves on Israeli territory. They broke into houses and captured entire villages. They took some of the Israelis to their Gaza Strip. Israel responded to this with powerful bombings and is threatening to switch to a ground operation in the near future.
