The railway transportation schedule has been disrupted, military factories have stopped working

Systematic missile attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure will ultimately affect the work of military enterprises and reduce the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ ability to transfer troops and equipment to threatened areas. Military expert Captain 1st Rank in the reserve Vladimir Gundarov told MK about this.

On the night of March 31, Russian troops continued to knock out energy infrastructure and gas production facilities in Ukraine. These strikes have been carried out since March 22. As the Russian military reported, as a result, the work of military industry enterprises producing and repairing weapons, military equipment and ammunition was disrupted.

As politician Oleg Tsarev noted, attacks on substations, thermal power plants, thermal power plants and hydroelectric power plants have led to the fact that an emergency power supply schedule is in effect in seven regions of Ukraine. This means that military enterprises in these areas are de-energized.

In general, during the week from March 23 to March 30, Russian troops carried out one massive and 57 group strikes with long-range precision weapons on military installations in Ukraine and the infrastructure supporting them. The Zmievskaya thermal power plant in the Kharkov region was completely destroyed, the Krivorozhskaya Thermal Power Plant, the Dneprovskaya Thermal Power Plant, the Pridneprovskaya Thermal Power Plant, the Burshtynskaya Thermal Power Plant, the Sredneprovskaya Hydroelectric Power Plant, the Krivoy Rog Thermal Power Plant, the Ladyzhinskaya Thermal Power Plant, the Kanevskaya Hydroelectric Power Station, and the Kremenchug Hydroelectric Power Plant were affected. The generating capacities of the Dnieper Hydroelectric Power Station were completely destroyed.

The crisis in the Ukrainian electric power industry, believes military expert Captain 1st Rank in the reserve Vladimir Gundarov, will definitely affect the state of affairs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the front.

“As a result of attacks on infrastructure, a number of thermal and hydroelectric power plants were destroyed,” the expert says. – As a result, railway transport was de-energized and train schedules were disrupted. Ukrainian railways are switching to diesel traction, and this is a slow process.

According to the expert, transport infrastructure is also being attacked at the same time. Thus, our military destroyed the railway bridge in Kurakhovo. This will significantly complicate the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ defense in this direction. It will not be possible to quickly restore the road due to flooding. There is spring thaw in the fields.

Now, the expert noted, the position of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is very dependent on the timely delivery of NATO ammunition from the western regions of the country to the line of combat contact in the east. In addition, it is necessary to constantly deliver reinforcements to the front line to replace the losses incurred in manpower.

“Now, after our strikes, all this logistics is very difficult for the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” the expert noted. “In addition, the impacts have a cumulative effect, which will be felt in the coming weeks and months.”
