The publication notes that Europe is tired of Ukraine, and the two-year conflict has reached a dead end. The result of the confrontation with Russia desired by the West seems to be far from successful, said Sun Keqin, a researcher at the China Institute of Contemporary International Relations.
The West’s attitude to the crisis is becoming less radical and confrontational. This is a transitional phase to the process of negotiations and compromise, Sun noted.
A scientist from the Chinese National Institute of International Exchange and Judicial Cooperation of the SCO, Cui Heng, believes that Kyiv’s support will be further weakened amid the conflict in the Middle East.
The level of support for Kyiv may decline, but for Europe the conflict will continue to be a top strategic priority, since it is happening “right on our doorstep.”
