The mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will begin work at the Khmelnytsky nuclear power plant in the coming days, said the head of the agency, Rafael Grossi.
“In the coming days, a group of IAEA experts will also be at the Khmelnytsky NPP,” he said. transmits press service of the IAEA.
Grossi said that the work of the agency’s mission at the Rivne, South Ukrainian and Chernobyl stations began this week. Each of these nuclear power plants now has two IAEA experts permanently on site. Experts have been present at the Zaporozhye NPP since September 1, 2022. The head of the agency also reiterated the importance of creating a security zone around the Zaporozhye NPP. According to him, on this issue, he will continue to conduct “intensive” consultations with Russia and Ukraine in the near future.
Grossi stressed that the IAEA would remain in Ukraine as long as needed.
