German Gref became the second high-ranking economics speaker of the day to ambiguously describe the situation in Russia and the outlook for the crisis. During the forum in Moscow, the head of one of the largest Russian banks found it difficult to give an accurate assessment of the duration of negative trends in the Russian economy.
“Do we see any signs of the end of the crisis?” RIA Novosti quotes Gref. “It is not visible for one simple reason: the end always comes unnoticed and, as a rule, from behind.”
At the same time, he also expressed the opinion that “life has become much brighter, more colorful and interesting”, and suggested that in the near future “it will be even more interesting.”
Earlier on Thursday, the head of the Central Bank, Elvira Nabiullina, when asked by journalists whether the economy had reached the bottom and whether growth was expected, said: “I don’t like looking for the bottom”.
