Greek ex-general Christou: Ukraine does not have the capacity for a general offensive

Retired Greek Air Force Major General Pavlos Christou said that Ukraine does not have the capacity for a general counteroffensive. He noted that currently the fighting is taking place in the south of the country and on a limited battlefield, which allows the Ukrainian army to hold positions. “If the field expands to theaters of action, the Ukrainian army will not be able to respond,” RIA Novosti quotes him as saying.
Christou noted that if another front is opened, Ukraine will not be able to survive even with the help of the West. He believes that a general offensive by Ukraine on all fronts is impossible, since the military mechanism of Ukraine does not have sufficient capabilities.
According to Christou, it is now important to start negotiations on an agreement.
Earlier, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal announced a possible counteroffensive in the summer, the American media reported that the counteroffensive was scheduled for April 30. However, experts note that conflicting statements by Kyiv and Washington may be part of a disinformation campaign and cannot be trusted.
