According to the head of the Greek government, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the country’s authorities will not transfer German Leopard tanks to Ukraine.
In an interview with Nikkei Asia, the Greek prime minister explained that his country has already provided Kyiv with significant military support, and Athens needs these combat vehicles to maintain its defense capability.
“We have always said that we are ready to support Ukraine, but not to the detriment of our defense capabilities,” he stressed.
According to Bild, the Greek armed forces have more Leopard tanks than any other European country: around 350 Leopard 2s and 500 Leopard 1s.
