Greece and Turkey agreed to resolve all issues and disputes peacefully – during the visit of Turkish leader Recep Erdogan, a corresponding declaration was signed.
He himself, in Athens, after negotiations with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, noted that there are no problems between Turkey and Greece that cannot be resolved. “There are no problems between us that we could not solve,” he said following the meeting. “Let us not be among those who cross the sea and drown in the stream.”
Erdogan is in Greece on his first visit in six years. Tensions that had accumulated over the years were reduced after the devastating earthquake in Turkey on February 6, 2023. Then Greece promised Erdogan all kinds of help in overcoming the consequences. In turn, Ankara expressed condolences after the train accident in Greece. Since then, there has been progress and a friendly tone in relations between the two countries.
