Greece and Germany discussed the supply of BMP-1 to Kyiv

Greek Defense Minister Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos discussed with the head of the German military department Christina Lambrecht the supply of BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicles to the Ukrainian military. Athens wants to get German Marder armored personnel carriers for these old Soviet combat vehicles.
In a telephone format, the heads of the military departments of the two countries touched on the topic of strengthening bilateral defense cooperation against the backdrop of the Ukrainian conflict.
“The issue was raised related to the implementation of the agreement on the supply by our country of BMP-1 to Ukraine with their replacement with Marder armored combat vehicles, which are produced by Germany,” the press service of the Greek Defense Ministry said.
