UK authorities will buy Taurus missiles from Germany for the sake of Ukraine
As the German newspaper Handelsblatt reports, citing informed sources among diplomats and government officials, the British authorities plan to buy Taurus missiles from Germany.
The purpose of this deal is to transfer to Ukraine as many of its own long-range Storm Shadow air-launched cruise missiles as possible.
“London’s proposal was received several weeks ago. The document is currently being studied in the department of Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz,” the publication writes.
It is also clarified that until 2010, Germany received 600 Taurus missiles, of which currently only about 150 are in combat readiness.
