Grain harvest in Russia increased to 153.8 million tons

At the end of 2022, the grain harvest in Russia amounted to 153.8 million tons in net weight, which is 26.69% more than in 2021 (121.4 million tons), transmits “Interfax” with reference to the preliminary assessment of Rosstat.

In 2020, Russian farmers harvested 133.5 million tons of grain.

The wheat harvest immediately increased by more than 37%: from 76.1 million tons in 2021 to 104.43 million tons in 2022. The harvest of rye increased from 1.7 million tons to 2.2 million tons, winter barley – from 2.9 million tons to 3.2 million tons, spring – from 15.1 million tons to 20.3 million tons.

Earlier in September, a harvest of more than 140 million tons of grain was predicted – these are the expected figures called President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with leaders of advanced engineering schools. It was possible to achieve these indicators thanks to the development of agricultural machinery and technologies, he said then.

In July 2022, the Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev noted that the Ministry of Agriculture maintains the grain harvest forecast at 130 million tons, and called it “one of the best results in the history of the country.”
