The government proposed exempting children of heroes of Russia and the USSR, as well as holders of the Order of Glory, from utility bills and contributions for major repairs. The corresponding amendment was approved at a meeting of the government commission on legislative activities, writes TASS with reference to the source.

The benefit will apply to minor children and children with disabilities, including after they reach adulthood. Full-time students under 23 years of age will also be exempt from fees.

At the beginning of January 2024, the Russian Ministry of Defense reportedthat during the fighting on the territory of Ukraine, 272 military personnel were awarded the title of Hero of Russia. The title is awarded by the president of the country for services to the state and people associated with the accomplishment of a heroic feat.
