Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin allowed LLC Globus (Novosibirsk region, Ob, the parent company of S7 Airlines) to take two Boeing 737 MAX aircraft from Russia to Turkey. Export can be carried out until December 31, 2022.
Founded in 2008, Globus was taken over by S7 Airlines in 2020.
The following are allowed for export:
- Boeing 737-8MAX, tail number VQ-BGW, serial factory number 43302, country of manufacture USA;
- Boeing 737-8MAX, tail number VQ-BGV, serial factory number 44297, country of manufacture USA.
According to open sources, there were two Boeing 737-8MAX in the Globus fleet before the merger with S7 Airlines.
In early June, S7 reported that stops work on the Citrus low-cost airline project. It was planned to create it on the basis of the Globus airline. In 2022, the deliveries of the aircraft required to launch the low-cost airline will not take place, so the development of an airline with such a business model is now impossible, the company explained.
Prior to this, the European Union banned the supply, leasing, maintenance and insurance of aircraft in Russia to European companies.
