Resident companies of the Russian industrial zone in Egypt will be able to sell their own on the territory of the Arab Republic, and not only in third countries, as was originally intended. Deputy Prime Minister, head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov spoke about the signing of the relevant agreement.
“We have specified a new site, including a number of other changes that allow us to sell products manufactured in this zone, including on the Egyptian market, which is very important both for colleagues and for our companies in the first place,” said Mr. Manturov during a meeting of the Russian-Egyptian commission for trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation (quote from TASS).
At the same time, the additional agreement provides for the expansion of the territory of the industrial zone by another 50 hectares (from 525). According to the plans of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the construction of facilities on the territory should begin in 2024. They will place industrial infrastructure facilities, including those for rent.
The day before, March 19, Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov Meets with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. The focus was on economic cooperation between the two states.
