Golikova announced a decrease in unemployment in 71 regions

Since the beginning of the year, the unemployment rate has decreased in 71 regions of Russia, increased – in nine. This was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova following the results of the interdepartmental working group on the restoration of the labor market.

“According to the methodology of the ILO (International Labor Organization. – Vedomosti), the level of general unemployment has decreased since the beginning of the year in 71 subjects. In nine regions, this indicator increased, in other subjects of the federation it did not change, – leads TASS words of Golikova with reference to the press service of her apparatus.

According to the apparatus, now the number of unemployed is 493,000, which is 71,000 less than at the beginning of 2023. At the same time, according to the Jobs of Russia portal, the number of vacant jobs increased by almost 222,000, exceeding 1.8 million

In June, the unemployment rate in Russia fell to a record low of 3.1%. Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation Anton Kotyakov at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in early July declaredthat the number of employed Russians increased over the year by 1.5 million people to 73.4 million.

On May 17, Golikova, at a meeting of the president with ministers, noted low unemployment in the country and said that in conditions of low unemployment, the government is working to provide enterprises with personnel. “Our task now is not to preserve such data on unemployment, but, on the contrary, to provide personnel,” said she.
