Gladkov clarified the number of downed targets on approach to Belgorod

Air defense systems (air defense) shot down three air targets over Belgorod and the Belgorod region, and not 12, as previously reported. Updated information on the work of air defense was published in his Telegram channel by the governor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov.

“Today, between 13:50 and 14:40, three targets were shot down in the air. According to preliminary data, there were no casualties or damage,” wrote He.

Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in the afternoon of August 20 reportedthat the Ukrainian military tried to strike Russian targets with drones during the day, the drones were destroyed over the Belgorod region. According to the defense department, the air defense system worked twice: at about 14:00 and at 14:40, a total of three drones were shot down.

Prior to this, the air defense system in the region worked on Saturday, August 19, there were several more similar cases earlier. On August 13, the Ministry of Defense reported three downed drones over the Belgorod region, the fourth drone was intercepted around 22:00 Moscow time. On the same day, Gladkov reported that one drone flew into an apartment building in Belgorod. There was an explosion, as a result of which the building and cars parked below were damaged. Later, the governor clarified that a 10-year-old girl was injured due to the fall of a drone in Belgorod.

The Belgorod region is regularly shelled by Ukraine. Since October 19, 2022, by decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, a “medium response level” has been established in the region. The region also has a high (“yellow”) level of terrorist threat indefinitely.
