Gladkov announced the second shelling of the Belgorod region in a day

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) shelled the territory of the Belgorod region for the second time in a day. This was announced by the head of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov.

“Several more villages in the Shebekinsky urban district came under fire from the Armed Forces of Ukraine. There are no casualties or injuries,” wrote he is in his Telegram channel.

This time, the settlements of Novaya Tavolzhanka and Pervomaisky were attacked, Gladkov specified. He noted that in the first village, an unexploded shell fell on the territory of an industrial enterprise, and in Pervomaisky, the glazing of a private house was damaged.

Earlier today APU fired upon Bezlyudovka village. As a result of the attack, two civilians were injured: one man was wounded, and the second received a shell shock. Gladkov later clarified that the victims were taken to the hospital, their condition is assessed as moderate. Because of the shelling, 6 private houses were also damaged, the head of the region added.

The day before, January 29, Gladkov reported that Ukrainian troops had attacked Dolgoye, Valuysky urban district. As a result of the shelling, no one was injured, but one private house was destroyed – windows were shattered by the blast wave.

During a working meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on January 24, Gladkov declaredthat since the beginning of the shelling, 25 residents of the Belgorod region have been killed, and another 96 have been injured.

In the Belgorod region, until February 4, a “yellow” (high) level of terrorist threat is in effect. In April 2022, six of the seven border regions introduced it amid regular shelling from Ukraine. Since then, the regime has been repeatedly extended.

In addition, since October 19, 2022, a “medium response” regime has been introduced in the region, which, by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, has been extended to eight border regions – Crimea, Sevastopol, Krasnodar Territory, Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kursk and Rostov regions.
