The Ukrainian military fired 82 units of various munitions into the Shebekinsky urban district and dropped explosive devices from drones eight times, informed the governor of the Belgorod region in a summary of strikes in the region on June 9.

On June 9, an air defense system worked over the city against two air targets, and as a result of the fall of fragments, one car was damaged, the governor added. On Friday, Belgorodsky, Volokonovsky districts and Graivoronsky urban district were also subjected to strikes from Ukraine, there were no casualties in these territories.

The Belgorod region, especially the border areas, are regularly shelled by the armed forces of Ukraine. On June 6, the press service of United Russia, citing the governor of the region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, reported that almost 60,000 people had been evacuated from the shelled territories, more than 8,000 of them are in temporary accommodation centers (TAPs).

In the Belgorod region, a high (“yellow”) level of terrorist danger is indefinitely. Since October 19, 2022, by decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the “medium level of response” has been established in the region. The same regime operates in seven other subjects of the Russian Federation – Crimea, Sevastopol, Krasnodar Territory, Kursk, Voronezh, Bryansk and Rostov regions.
