The German authorities continue to support Ukraine in its conflict with Russia – the German Ministry of Defense announced this on Tuesday, October 10.
The military department reported that they plan to send ten more Leopard 1A5 tanks to the Ukrainian army.
Specific delivery dates are not specified. It is only noted that the combat vehicles will be sent to Kyiv in the coming weeks.
Earlier, Austrian Army Colonel and military expert Markus Reisner said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had already lost a third of the Leopard tanks transferred by the Western allies, since the effectiveness of the armored vehicles turned out to be more modest than expected. Of the 90 tanks, about a third were damaged or destroyed.
Meanwhile, the Polish state defense concern Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa reported that it had sent first batch of repaired Leopard 2 tanks. Repair work on other combat vehicles continues.
