Der Spiegel: Germany is going to give Ukraine the largest military aid package worth 2.7 billion euros
Germany is going to transfer to Ukraine the largest military aid package from February 24, 2022, worth about 2.7 billion euros. This is reported by the publication Der Spiegel. According to preliminary information, it should be announced on May 14th.
It is specified that the new military assistance package will include 20 Marder infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs), 30 Leopard 1 tanks, four IRIS-T-SLM air defense systems and hundreds of missiles for them, 200 reconnaissance drones, and 100 logistics support vehicles.
In addition, it is reported that Kyiv will receive a large supply of ammunition from Berlin. It is also noted that Germany intends to withdraw from conservation and deliver 15 Gepard air defense systems to Ukraine.
Formerly White House National Security Council Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby informedthat Washington will continue to provide military assistance to Ukraine despite a possible default on June 1 in the country.
