Saxon authorities: only 10% of Ukrainian refugees who left for Germany have an official job
According to estimates published in the federal state of Saxony (Germany), only 10% of Ukrainian refugees who came to Germany have an official job.
In total, 65,187 refugees from Ukraine are registered in this region in the east of the country. Of these, only 6,500 officially work, and about 35,000 receive benefits. The rest are students, pensioners, self-employed and not in need of financial assistance.
The authorities of Saxony urged “to give Ukrainians the opportunity to work, not to give them the illusion that they can live only at the expense of the allocated benefits,” writes Bild. Many of the refugees, as noted in the material, do not think about permanent work, as high benefits “create the wrong incentives.”
The minimum wage for a low-paid job in Germany is 520 euros. The standard allowance in Germany is 502 euros per adult refugee. A family with two children receives at least 1598 euros per month.
