Germany responded to Kyiv’s demand to provide prohibited phosphorus and cluster munitions

Ukraine’s demand to provide it with phosphorus and cluster munitions is “stupid and wrong,” Anton Hofreiter, a member of the ruling Green party and head of the Bundestag committee on European policy, said in an interview with RTL television.
Earlier, representatives of Kyiv voiced the relevant requirements at the Munich Security Conference.
Hofreiter considered it wrong that “Ukraine demands everything” and considered such demands unrealistic. In his opinion, such ambitions of Kyiv are connected with the delay in the supply of heavy equipment, primarily tanks.
“If they demand something there, this does not mean that it must be carried out,” Hofreiter said.
Phosphorus and cluster munitions are banned in many countries. According to representatives of Ukraine, the West should supply them for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, since America and partners have such weapons “for millions of shots.” According to Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba, Ukraine has not joined the convention on cluster and phosphorus munitions.
