Scholz: to control the Taurus, Ukraine needs to send German soldiers, which is excluded

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz once again refused to supply Ukraine with Taurus long-range missiles. He emphasized that their use would need to be controlled, and for this, German soldiers would need to be sent along with the ammunition, which is out of the question. His words are reported by the agency The Guardian.

“If you want to control the system, and this is only possible with the participation of German soldiers, then for me this is not discussed,” Scholz said.

He stressed that it is unacceptable to supply a weapon system with a very wide range and not control it.

It is worth noting that Scholz had previously stated that he was not going to supply Taurus to Ukraine, as he did not want to drag Berlin into the conflict.
