Germany has prepared a new package of military assistance to Ukraine for 700 million euros

The German federal government has prepared a new package of military assistance to Ukraine totaling up to 700 million euros. This should from the statement of the Ministry of Defense of Germany, published on the website of the department.

According to Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, the package includes weapons that Ukraine needs: air defense, tanks, artillery. “Today, here in Vilnius, we were able to prepare another support package for Ukraine,” he said. The NATO summit is taking place in Lithuania from 11 to 13 July.

In particular, the new package – the Vilnius package – will include two Patriot air defense systems, 40 Marder infantry fighting vehicles and 25 Leopard tanks. Also, Ukraine will be provided with 20,000 artillery shells and 5,000 155-mm caliber ammunition and reconnaissance and combat drones, etc. The package includes 31 items in total.

Earlier, a number of German news agencies announced the preparation of a package of military assistance from Germany for 600 million euros.

In July Pistorius informedthat in the near future dozens of tanks of the Leopard 1A5 type will arrive on the territory of Ukraine. Then he noted that Germany is in second place in terms of military assistance to Ukraine. He added that a 2.7 billion euro assistance package was prepared in May, which includes, among other things, IRIS-T SLM air defense systems.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation regularly reports on the destruction of Western-made tanks. Only today, July 3, the head of the military department, Sergei Shoigu, said that 16 Leopard tanks were destroyed. The Russian authorities have repeatedly criticized the delivery of weapons to Kyiv, stressing that the Leopard tanks will burn in the same way as the rest of Western military equipment.
