Germany has found new evidence in the case of undermining the “Nord Streams”

A German investigation has found new traces of explosives on a yacht linked to the Nord Stream pipeline explosion. About it informed Reuters, citing a letter from the German authorities to the UN Security Council, which they sent jointly with Sweden and Denmark.

“There are suspicions that this vessel could be used to transport explosives that exploded on the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines. <...> In the samples taken from the boat during the investigation, traces of underwater explosives were found, ”the text of the letter says.

The German authorities also clarified in the report that divers may have planted explosives in some places of gas pipelines at a depth of 70 to 80 m.

The Nord Stream explosion occurred on the night of September 26, 2022. Two leaks were discovered in the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of Sweden, and two more in the Danish EEZ. Initially, Germany, Sweden and Denmark agreed to conduct a joint investigation, but this idea was later abandoned.

Already in October of the same year, Sweden announced the completion of the investigation, stating “increasing suspicions of gross sabotage”, but those responsible for what happened were not named. The Russian authorities accused Western countries of blowing up gas pipelines.

In March, a number of Western media reported on the possible involvement of a certain “pro-Ukrainian group” in the sabotage. At the same time, it was emphasized that the United States had no data on Russia’s participation in the operation. The Kremlin called the messages a “coordinated stuffing.”
