According to German Finance Minister Christian Lindner, Berlin will not help Ukraine alone.
As Die Zeit clarifies, Lindner explained that a situation should not be allowed in which Germany would do more financially to help Kyiv than other Western countries.
Lindner warns against possible financial overload, emphasizing that Germany cannot bear the financial burden of this conflict alone. In light of this, he calls on other EU members to step up their support for Kyiv.
It is worth noting that at the summit in Brussels in December, Hungary blocked the allocation of 50 billion euros for macro-financial assistance to Ukraine. After this, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, announced the preparation of alternative options for financial assistance to Ukraine from the EU.
